Physical culture and sports authority has announced that “DAWA CUP” 2017 International Orienteering Marathon will be organized on August 13 at Sukhbaatar square, Ulaanbaatar.

Organized in collaboration with Ulaanbaatar City Governor’s Office, Committee for physical culture and sports of Ulaanbaatar city and Grand China Sport Association the forthcoming event will be held in 4 categories: “tourist”, “family”, “friends” and “Ulaanbaatar, leaving unforgettable memories in my heart”.

In the category of “tourist” teams from 2-3 citizens of foreign countries can take part, in the category of “family” teams of three people will compete. In the category of “friends” teams from 2-3 people over 18 years old will take part, and the category “Ulaanbaatar, leaving unforgettable memories in my heart” is open for teams of 2-3 participants aged 50-65.

Participants who are the first to perform tasks, being on 5 different points will become winners. And the Grand prize is travel coupon.

“DAWA CUP” aims to develop running sports, to promote Ulaanbaatar city abroad and to increase number of runners and amateurs. It offers possibilities for both experienced and inexperienced runners to compete in their own age and distance categories.

The registration for the marathon will continue until August 10 at the Sports Palace (Спортын төв ордон).

Line A- visitors: Limit 500 person, participate in the competition with a team of 2-3 members, a total of 167-250 teams.

Line B- father, mother and I: Limit 500 person, participate in the competition with a team of 2-3 members, a total of 167-250 teams.

Line C- friends: Limit 500 person, participate in the competition with a team of 2-3 members, a total of 167-250 teams.

Line D- Ulaanbaatar in my heart (elderly): Limit 500 person, participate in the competition with a team of 2-3 members, a total of 167-250 teams.

In accordance with each line task instructions, the teams arrive at Mission points in order and complete related tasks.

Competition rules:

Requirements of participants:

Two routes of Line A- tourists and line D- Ulaanbaatar in my heart (elderly): The competition team shall be composed of 2-3 participants, and team member must be 12 years of age or above,

Each team has at least one opposite sex member, each team has one Captain, which must be an adult aged 18 or above. If the elderly participate, someone must be under 60 years of age.

Line C- friends: The competition team shall be composed of 2-3 participants, and team member must be 18 years of age or above, each team has at least one opposite sex member, each team has one Captain, which must be an adult aged 18 or above. If the elderly participate, someone must be under 60 years of age.

Line B- father, mother and I: Enter for competition in family form, 2-3 people in each family, each team has at least one children between the ages of 3-12.The others are adults and any one adult as captain which must be an adult aged 18 or above. If the elderly participate, someone must be under 65 years of age.

Competition requirements:

All participants must wear the clothing provided by the Executive Committee throughout the competition, at the same time, wear the number cloth on the chest as required, and Competition number plates shall not be blocked in any form.

Participants should arrive at designated locations on time to complete a series of pre competition preparations, while ensuring the proper use of the equipment.

At the end of the opening ceremony, all participants will receive the map and set out according to the referee’s request. Total competition time will take Punch time as reference.

All competition points require all teams to arrive before they can start the task or complete the punch.

Each team must act collectively and must not be dispersed. No change team member on the way.

This competition adopts the timing Bracelet method, each team must perform its tasks in sequence according to their respective lines.

It is considered null and void when lack of any punch point record in the statistics of competition results.

A team complete the Competition according to the rules of the competition and finish the race at the end of the closing time, scheduled by the time spent during the competition.

In addition to walking and public transportation, all teams are not allowed to compete in any other form. During the course of the competition, no one can accept the help of others or help others complete the tasks of the competition. Once verified, the referees shall have the right to request the contestant to withdraw or cancel the competition immediately.

In the course of the competition, when the mission point in a large number of people, each team should be in accordance with the order of arrival, consciously queuing to perform tasks.

The competitors will be responsible for the catering and transportation expenses during the competition by themselves.

All participants must comply with traffic order, traffic rules and rules of the game.

Irregularities:

  1. During the course of the competition, the teams competed with the exception of public transport, such as taxis, bicycles, etc.
  2. A team that receives help from others or helps others accomplish their tasks.
  3. Competitors who destroy the playing field and props.
  4. Teams and individuals violating traffic regulations and damaging the environment.
  5. Teams and individuals who interfere with other teams in normal competition at the duty venue.
  6. In the course of the competition, the team members are not in place, or change the team member halfway.
  7. Teams and individuals who wear a number cloth is not in accordance with the requirements of the Organizing Committee.
  8. Teams and individuals whose uniform dress is not in accordance with the requirements of the Organizing Committee.
  9. The team that fails to perform its tasks according to the rules of the task.
  10. The team that unauthorized access to the isolation zone, the departure zone, and affect other participants.
  11. Teams and individuals do not listen to the judges and staff.

The following circumstances will be warned

  1. Unauthorized access zone, departure zone.
  2. On the way of task node, destroy tasks or punch items.
  3. Arrive at the task node or punch point, do not observe order when carrying out tasks.
  4. Do not listen to the conductor from the scene; in the starting area or terminal area, the mission area.
  5. Affect others in the departure zone, the terminal area, the mission area.
  6. Anyone who violates social morality, violates traffic regulations and discards rubbish at will.
  7. Do not wear the number cloth as required.

In the following cases, if the team has made a profit, a serious warning will be given and the player will be disqualified from the competition or the result of the competition.

  1. Do not clearly wear the number of cloth on the chest in a prominent position.
  2. Anyone using a video device to shoot a competition map during the competition.
  3. Anyone who receives help from others in a match.
  4. Any person who provides assistance to others in the competition.
  5. Anyone who gets a map from the map box before you leave the departure line;
  6. Anyone who uses the map provided by the non-competition committee during the competition.

Disqualification of the competition in the following circumstances.

  1. Do not wear number cloth;
  2. The number cloth is out of line with the team’s sequence of entries.
  3. The number of cloth and bracelets is not enough in the race or at the end of the race.
  4. Take the wrong map.
  5. Refuse to carry other necessary equipment as required by the competition committee.
  6. Departure foul.
  7. Receive help after being warned.
  8. Still give assistance to others after being warned.
  9. Use other prohibited means of transportation.
  10. Entering or passing through forbidden zones.
  11. Go through the topographic features of the competition that are represented on the map as impassable.
  12. Does not travel along marker lines.
  13. Use disabled auxiliary equipment.
  14. Send alarm signals and call signals at will.
  15. Change a relay or team event without approval.
  16. The whole game is not over, go into the stadium again after the completion of the competition.
  17. Do not hand in the bracelet or not entry results in Statistics Office after through the finish line.
  18. Deliberately obstruct others from competition.
  19. Other violations of sportsmanship.
  20. Serious violations of social ethics, traffic regulations, environmental awareness behavior.
  21. There are over 3 team members.
  22. Premeditated organization group cheating, others help a team to get the ranking.

Note: the referee has the right to warn or cancel the competition according to the circumstances, and the organizing committee has the right of final interpretation.

Appeals and Arbitration

If any team have any objection to the performance of this competition or to the performance of other teams at the end of the game, the captain is requested to file a complaint in written form to the Arbitration Commission. The Arbitration Commission will verify the written appeal.

Arbitration notice:

  • If you have any objection to the result or penalty of the team, please provide the name of the team number and the specific situation to the Committee in writing. The executive board provides an arbitration declaration form at the terminal Statistics Office.
  1. Reporting other teams in violation of the rules of the game, you should valid evidence such as video and photos shall be submitted.
  2. The result of the arbitration only decides whether to cancel the qualification and the result of the team being reported.
  3. Oral complaint is not supported.
  4. The time of submission of the complaint form closes before the closing time.

Note: the interpretation and amendment of the competition rules shall be owned by the “DAWA CUP” Mongolia Beautiful Ulaanbaatar2017 International Orienteering Marathon organizing committee.
